The Village of Perrysville is a small rural community of just over 700 residents located in scenic Mohican Country. This idyllic community is situated in the heart of Ohio’s Amish country and offers access to a variety of fun local attractions for all ages. Spend your days exploring the many miles of trails at Mohican State Park or soak up the sun at Pleasant Hill Lake. When it comes time to relax, head over to our local Weltmer Park, where you can enjoy some fresh air along the river trail. This scenic path features a paved surface that transitions into a wooden bridge crossing the beautiful wetlanded area.

Please take notice that the Village of Perrysville will hold a special council meeting on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Perrysville Community Center. The primary purpose of this meeting is to discuss and consider the appointment of a new council member. All residents and interested parties are invited to attend.

Bob was a dedicated and compassionate community leader whose steadfast commitment, guidance, and tireless advocacy left a deeply positive and lasting impact on our village and everyone he served.

Water Line FlushingPosted: 7/31/2026

The Village of Perrysville is conducting a hydrant flushing which is scheduled to begin on August 12th with an uncertain anticipated completion date. During this flush period, residents may experience temporary changes in water pressure or water discoloration. If you notice any discolored water, simply let your cold water tap run for a few minutes until the water runs clear. The Village appreciates your patience and understanding as these necessary maintenance and repair operations are completed.

Village Water and Sewer RatesPosted: 7/14/2026

The Village of Perrysville is continuing to implement the utility rate adjustments established by the Village Council in 2025 to support ongoing infrastructure needs. Following the previous 3% adjustment, rates are set at a 5% annual increase, effective July 1st of each year, as detailed in Water Rates Ordinance 05-2025 and Sewer Rates Ordinance 06-20-2025. This results in a new minimum water rate of $22.23 and a minimum sewer rate of $27.57, for a new combined minimum of $74.80.

Fire & EMS: Paid Per Call VolunteersPosted: 6/15/2026

The Green-Perrysville Joint Fire District is looking for dedicated neighbors to join their team as paid per call members. You don’t need any prior experience to apply, as they will provide all necessary Fire and EMS training. To join their mission of serving and protecting the community, you must be at least 18 years old, able to pass a background check, and live within 10 minutes of the station. They offer a supportive environment with career development and ongoing education opportunities. The Green Perrysville Joint Fire District is seeking a part-time Firefighter/EMS Provider to join their team. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, hold a valid driver’s license, and maintain current Firefighter 1, EMT, and CPR certifications. This position offers flexible scheduling with hours between 8 A.M. and 6 P.M., seven days per week. Wage rates are set at $16 for EMTs, $17 for Advanced EMTs, and $18 for Paramedics. The Village is seeking two (2) residents for the Board of Trustees of Public Affairs (BOPA) to oversee and manage municipal water and utility systems. These are paid public offices; members are initially appointed by the Mayor with Council approval, then transition to the elective ballot at the next municipal election. Compensation will be determined by the Village Council. Candidates must be registered voters and residents of the Village.
